…to all who showed up for our last show of the year, we really appreciate it. It was a great show! We played 3 new tunes along with a bunch of junk classics. Conrad notified everybody in the audience that he would likely make a fool of himself before we played Bikeage and he succeeded by falling over my drum set and ultimately kicking his own ass.

The crowd was the best one we’ve seen lately with some awesome interaction between us and the audience, in fact, I think I heard somebody say, “you guys are fat!” Ain’t that the truth. Anyway, I just wanted to say thank you to all of you that came out and helped support us this year, without you guys coming to the shows, we couldn’t keep doing it, Thank You! During our hiatus we’ll be writing and perfecting a bunch of new tunes that will be going on the upcoming record so we are very excited. Check back to Amerikanjunk.com for more updates. Since we’ve gotten Brent fully trained-in our current song list and immersed in the songwriting process, we’ve turned out three of our best tunes to date. We’ll rock them out at our October 19th show as well as a surprise Descendants song (come to the show to find out the song). During our upcoming break we’ll put together something like 15 more songs and begin the recording process. Probably take some time but keep checking back for further updates as they come. I’ve also gotten an idea from a friend to produce some political flavored Junk videos so that may also come down the pipe as well as a new photo shoot which has been in planning for the last 2 months. I’ll let yall know.

actually, I got nothing. So, rather than yak about stupid crap, I’ll show you a cool pic from our last recording session. Enjoy!

Here’s a priceless morsel from a roadshow. I don’t remember exactly where this was, but I know it’s in a hotel somewhere. I love you Conrad! (He’s gonna kill me.)

I snapped this pic of Brent last night while he was shaving! Apparently he didn’t want me to take his picture. I guess now I better watch my back since I’ve posted all these pics of my band mates in compromising positions, I’m sure I’ll get mine. Bring it on bitches!

Amerikan Junk is and will likely always be a D.I.Y. Punk band. Meaning as long as we maintain creative control, we are D.I.Y. As long as we book our own shows whether we have a booking manager or not (we don’t), we are D.I.Y. Major labels don’t do anything that we can’t do besides throw money at problems and screw people over. Just a little rant. D.I.Y. or DIE! That’s just the way it is for Junk.

Amerikan Junk - Summer Shows

Check out our ‘Gigs’ Section for up coming shows in St. Paul, Litchfield and Duluth this summer. Starting this weekend (June 7th) at Big V’s in St. Paul.

In other news, Junk is still workin’ on new tunes and recently purchased a Dodge Van to carry our stuff around.

Also Check out our Myspace We recently added a store to purchase ‘Junk’ T-Shirts. We’ll be adding some more merch eventually so keep a look out for it.

At 11:50 am, May 10 2008 Ali Ann Beard came into the world without making even a peep out of discomfort. I would have to say that is a sign meaning she is in good hands and she knew it. God bless the Beards and happy Birthday Ali!

Hey Kat’s and Junkateers…. We just finished with a great run of shows last week. We Played more shows in the last 2 months then we had played in all of 2007. Hope you’re ready for some new songs and some more live shows coming soon.

If you have any Ideas of places for us to get in to play, let us know and we’ll see if we can work it out.
